- As every year, an Invitation for Proposals has been sent to our partners in UNDP country offices in the region in order to collect and select project proposals to be co-funded from the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund during 2008 and the first half of 2009. The deadline for proposals submission was set at September 19, 2008. In the light of the priorities of the upcoming Czech EU Presidency (starting on 1 January, 2009) and at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic the thematic issues of Sustainable Local Energy Resources and Local Governance will be strongly supported. - We inform our UNDP partners in the region that the Czech Republic has recently entrusted 17 million CZK (approx. 1,075,000 USD) to the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund for implementation during 2008 and the first half of 2009.
- The Czech - UNDP Trust Fund organized an informal meeting with Czech implementing partners on 7 February at Prague UN Information Centre in UN House. Lessons learned in our cooperation and other potential areas of work were discussed.
