How does the CTF work?According to the received feedback, most of the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund projects have contributed not only expert knowledge in the focused areas but have also helped to build a network of informal contacts between Czech experts and the representatives of various organizations on the beneficiary's side. Such contacts are being maintained and represent a platform for future co-operation and a good basis for long-term sustainability and targeted follow-up activities. Both organizations as well as individual consultants can be hired to implement activities planned by the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund. Part of the funds available is also allocated to quickly react to UNDP Country Offices’ needs when searching for expertise in a specific field. These funds are used for contracting individual experts on the basis of a request from the UNDP’s office in the target country. The Czech-UNDP Trust Fund also seeks co-financing from additional resources – e.g., participants of most of the organized study visits to the Czech Republic are required to cover their travel expenses from national or regional funds. This system enables the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund to support more activities from the given budget and helps to create closer links between different subjects (e.g. local/regional NGOs, private companies, national or regional government, UNDP’s country office, regional programme and other institutions). The overall programming of the Czech-UNDP Trust Fund is always carried out in consultation with the UNDP Country Offices to tailor the planned projects to the needs of the target countries. |
