The training workshop on Non-financial Reporting was held on 19 June, 2007 (Tuesday), from 9:30 – 17:30, at President Hotel Kyiv.

 

Throughout the world, the issue of non-financial reporting on economic, environmental, and social performance is becoming increasingly important for companies, and Ukraine is not an exception. The customers, governments, CSO, and investors are calling companies for more transparency, accountability and understanding of their impact on social development and environmental impact.

 

The workshop provided the participants with a broad view of the development of non-financial reporting internationally and with information on the existing reporting initiatives such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and AccountAbility 1000. A special focus of the workshop has been put on Communication on Progress (COP) reporting as this is one of the explicit commitments that a company makes when it participates in the Global Compact.  

 

The main objective of the workshop was to increase the knowledge of Global Compact company members on non-financial reporting, and build their practical skills to prepare Communication on Progress report for their companies.

 

Trainers of the workshop were be Ms. Elena Topoleva, and Mr. Andrey Topolev who have initiated in cooperation with other experts developing of non-financial reporting in Russia in accordance with international standards. They are also the founders of the Business Club on development of Non-financial reporting and have extensive experience in consulting companies in Russia and abroad in this area of expertise.

 

The forum was intended for Global Compact company members, and the working language was Russian. The agenda of the workshop is attached herewith.
