The meeting provided opportunities to:

• Present and discuss means and tools for mainstreaming and monitoring HD/MDGs in sector-specific areas of UNDP’s programmes

• Take stock of HD existing projects and initiatives (including HD academic/practical courses at the level of national Universities and teaching materials/resources)

• Discuss and suggest practical ways in which BRC can improve the exchange of experience and knowledge between individual COs on HD/MDGs.

• Specify what sort of BRC expertise is sought by COs and how BRC can respond more adequately to the demand in this regard

• Discuss how the country-specific needs can be formalized in a regional project to support mainstreaming human development and MDGs what could be its major components and how can they be coordinated (and complementing) the work being done at country level.

• Finalize the HD/MDG regional umbrella project document (to be launched in June 2007) to better respond to the COs demands in HD and MDG mainstreaming.
