UNDAF Quality and Assurance
The convening agencies (CA) in each region are annually agreed on by the Regional Directors of the ExCom agencies at their first annual meeting, in consultation with other UNDG Agencies including Non-Resident Agencies and Regional Commissions. Usually, the CA responsibility is assigned annually amongst the agencies in such a way that different agencies convene in different countries, and/or regions or sub regions each year.
This year UNDP is the convening agency (CA) in quality support and assurance for the UN Common Country Programming Process (CCA/UNDAF) in Europe and the CIS. In 2008-2009 the process will be undertaken by 8 UN Country Teams (UNCTs) in the region: FYR Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The Bratislava Regional Centre will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the UNCTs to ensure a quality and timely common country programming process in accordance with the 2007 UNDG CCA/UNDAF guidelines. The Convening Agency must ensure full engagement and teamwork of the UN System in the analytical work, review and other stages of the process.
