The Lithuanian debate was organized by the Baltic Partners for Change on 17 October.

Lithuania is ranked on 41st position in the Human Development Index. In 2006 the country’s official development assistance equaled to 15 million euro.

The conference in Lithuania was hosted by Mr. Justinas Karosas, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Parliament of Lithuania.

The participants assessed what has been achieved in the Millennium Development Goals so far and what major challenges the implementation of this vision is facing. Similarly to other countries, it was also highlighted that building public support for the Goals is necessary, the more that Lithuania, as well as other EU new member states, used to be recipient and now should help others.
