Summary: Daniela Gasparikova is Team Leader of the Country Support Team at Bratislava Regional Centre. She leads and coordinates UNDP activities in Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Malta and St. Helena. In addition, she manages several national ODA capacity building programmes in Central Europe. Prior to joining UNDP in 2003 Daniela worked as the European Affairs Manager for an industry lobbying association in Brussels. She received an M.A. in Slovak and English languages and Diploma in International Relations from the Comenius University in Bratislava.
Summary: Chief Technical Advisor (2005-), UNDP - Hungarian Government, Cserehat Programme; Based on the lessons learned from the development schemes of other countries, the Cserehát programme incorporates a number of principles that together amount to a new way to alleviate poverty and social exclusion. The Cserehát Programme is thus intended to serve as a model for initiatives in other parts of Hungary and other countries. The aims of this area based programme to raise living standards to the levels enjoyed by other regions, and to improve the chances for excluded minority groups such as the Roma to join the economic and political mainstream. Summary: Izabela is Communications Officer of the Country Support Team at Bratislava Regional Centre. She is responsible for communications support to CST projects implemented in Slovakia and Hungary. She joined UNDP in 2006. Prior to this she worked as PR Manager for a real estate company operating in Central Europe. She has almost two decades of professional background in foreign and business news reporting, writing, editing and managing, including four years working for a non-governmental organisation, where she was a Director.
Summary: Daniel Skobla is Poverty and Social Inclusion Officer with the Country Support Team at Bratislava Regional Centre, focusing on poverty, social inclusion and human development issues. Before coming to UNDP he worked as a research fellow at the Institute of Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and as a programme manager at the Regional Environmental Center (REC) in Bratislava. Daniel studied economics and sociology at the Central European University (CEU) in Warsaw and obtained a Ph.D. at the Polish Acadedmy of Sciences. His research focused on regional development, social inequalities, ethnicity and nationalism.
Summary: Klara Tothova is Environmental Officer with the Country Support Team, responsible for development and implementation of environmental projects in Central Europe. The portfolio primarily includes projects financed from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). Prior to joining UNDP Klara worked at the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, where she was involved in the development and enforcement of environmental regulations. She has extensive experience in planning, preparation, implementation and monitoring of internationally-funded development projects, mainly in Slovakia, Czech republic and Hungary.
