Dafina Gercheva
UNDP Bratislava Regional Centre Summary: Dafina Gercheva (Bulgaria) is Capacity Development Advisor and Regional Coordinator of the Capacity 2015 Programme. She manages regional projects and provides policy advice to UNDP country offices in the Europe and CIS region in integrated local development and partnerships. Prior to coming to Bratislava, Dafina was with UNDP Bulgaria, where she was Governance Cluster Coordinator and Head of Programme. She managed a diverse portfolio of local development and environmental projects. Ms. Gercheva has ten years of experience as a professor in environmental economics and has spent several years working with local development NGOs in the Western Balkans. She holds a PhD degree in Environmental Economics and an MSc in Political Economy and Sociology from University of National and World Economy in Sofia. She has been a visiting scholar at Oxford University, University College of London and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
