Major activities

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
(i)   Creating and expanding income generation opportunities for rural women from low income families:
a.Identifying and engaging rural women from poor families in mobilization activities;
b.Identifying local market opportunities and assessing needs of women in two provinces
c.Designing and conducting tailored training programme for targeted rural women
d.Conducting trade fair of goods produced by rural women in two provincial centres to win support from local authorities and raise self assertiveness of the women
e.Launching small grant programme and designing suitable financial schemes as seed money for targeted women to start up and/or expand their micro business
f.   Change monitoring
(ii)  Producing advocacy materials and conducting workshops for targeted groups:
a.Preparing, printing and disseminating a brochure on Gender stereotypes
b.Conducting a poster contest on Gender stereotypes among general public
c.Preparing interactive training materials introducing gender concept, triple role of women CEDAW, gender based discrimination and gender related Turkmenistan’s legal framework
d.Conducting gender/CEDAW trainings for local authorities in local women’s NGOs in all five provinces
