Gender and Society: Georgia (2008)

This report attempts to draw a general picture of the situation in Georgia, from a gender perspective. It discusses gender issues in public and private lives separately, and addresses gender differences in human and social capital as well. As gender is considered to be culturally constructed, the gender issues among ethnic minorities, Armenian and Azeri communities are reviewed. The long-term impact on the lives of displaced women and men due to Abkhazian conflict is also examined.

Field work was carried out in September-November 2007. The report was prepared and published by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) within the framework of the UNDP project - "Gender and Politics” .

Women and Men in Serbia (2008)

 
This report is the second publication in sequence, presenting the statistical data by sex. It resulted from the increasing users’ need to monitor the situation in the society and relations between sexes through statistical data, as well as from the necessity for harmonization with the European statistical standards. In contrast to the first publication (2005), which presented only the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, 2008 report contains also the data of several other sources, such as: National Employment Service, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Health, Institute of Public Health (Institute of Health Protection), etc. The report offers a wide selection of the statistical data, shown by sex, from the following fields population, households and families, health, education, social welfare, judiciary, employment, salaries, decision making and living standard

Women and men in Vojvodina. Report on Gender Equality 2004-2006

 
The Report encompasses the following fields: health, education, employment and unemployment, earnings, decision making and po­litical participation, as well as domestic violence. Data were mostly collected from existing publications and documentation tables of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia encompassing a three-year period (2004-2006) whenever possible. The Report is to serve those who deal with gender equality issues in their work, as well as those whose work can influence the status of women and men: decision makers, gender equality mechanisms, non-governmental organizations, the provincial and local administration, the media, but also the wider public.

Gender Bosnia & Herzegovina - Thematic Bulleting 03 / 2007

This thematic bulletin offers selection of statistical data reported by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Agency for Statistics providing a brief overview of position of men and women in the society. No additional data analyses is provided as the bulletin amis to serve as a source of information to all users interested in position of men and women as wellas, in gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Statistical Bulletin “Women and Men of Uzbekistan (2007)

 
The statistical bulletin “Women and Men of Uzbekistan” is published on a regular basis (no less than once in two years). The given statistical collection is the regular publication of Goskomstat of the Republic Uzbekistan, devoted to gender development in Uzbekistan. This statistical bulletin presents data on demography, healthcare, education, employment and unemployment, social security, criminality, etc., broken down by sex. This year’s bulletin is enriched with a new chapter on the usage of free time by men and women.

Information on the Position of Women in Vojvodina - Year 2002/2003

 
Collected data enable the recognition of social spheres where gender inequality is most evident and taking. It covers area of basic demographic data, health, education, labor market, women participation within political parties and government structures of Vojvodina Territory, as well as at managing positions in institutions, women’s non-governmental organizations and issues of violence against women. It also introduces Vojvodina’s adopted gender equality provisions.
