Gender and Society: Georgia (2008)![]() This report attempts to draw a general picture of the situation in Georgia, from a gender perspective. It discusses gender issues in public and private lives separately, and addresses gender differences in human and social capital as well. As gender is considered to be culturally constructed, the gender issues among ethnic minorities, Armenian and Azeri communities are reviewed. The long-term impact on the lives of displaced women and men due to Abkhazian conflict is also examined. Field work was carried out in September-November 2007. The report was prepared and published by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) within the framework of the UNDP project - "Gender and Politics” . The author: Nana Sumbadze. Published in 2008.
