National Human Development Reports

National Human DEVELOPMENT REPORT 2008: Regional Cooperation

The Serbia's National Human Development Report 2008 gives us overview of achievements in key sectors of the economy and society and offers recommendations for further reforms. It presents a good basis for reviewing a broader picture of the political, social and economic situation in Republic of Serbia and its relations with the region. Recommendations provided for the Republic of Serbia, can to a large extent be applied to all countries of the Western Balkans. The Report draws together evidence from a variety of sources to argue that overcoming conflicts and tensions, and improving cooperation with the former Yugoslav republics and other neighbours is crucial for future human development in Serbia.

Report is available in English and Serbian at UNDP Serbia Country office webpage (http://www.undp.org.rs/?event=public.nhdr):

Human Development Report Serbia 2005 The Strength of Diversity

Inspired by the global Human Development Report 2004 on Cultural Freedom, the report address human development issues in Serbia analyzing the strengths of its diversity. Diversity of culture, of language, of religion, but also geographical, gender and generational diversity, which provide an image of the Republic with multiple resources, but also numerous challenges ahead. Report analyses the status of multiculturalism in Serbia not as a doctrine, but rather as a reality with its positive connotations.
