Major activities

 

-          Selection of 3 target municipalities;
-          Identification of vulnerable groups in 3 selected municipalities and the preparation of the baseline study on the situation of the vulnerable (the questionnaires are gender sensitive and allow for the identification of different situation of men and women in different areas);
-           Establishment of Local Leadership Groups (representatives of governmental, private and civic sectors as well as vulnerable groups) in the selected municipalities (gender balance of the groups has been ensured);
-          Peer group discussions among the identified vulnerable groups on the challenges and problems they face in different areas (based on the baseline studies, women from certain ethnic minorities appeared in the most vulnerable group, this was taken into account while forming the peer discussion groups);
-          Capacity-building of local actors in methods and techniques for determination of the needs in municipalities with focus on vulnerable groups; participatory planning; skills for monitoring and analysis (indicators); techniques, tools and mechanisms for monitoring of national and local programs based on MDGs; advocacy and campaigning;
Facilitation of the development of the MDG based local development strategies (the concerns identified through the baseline studies and peer group discussions have been addressed in the local development strategies).
