Summary: Barbara Limanowska is the Regional Gender Advisor at Bratislava Regional Centre. She provides policy advice, technical backstopping and expertise to country offices, and helps to identify emerging priorities in the region to help mainstream gender into UNDP regional programmes and further UNDP’s global policies on gender at the regional level, with a focus on facilitating cross-practice cooperation. Barbara also leads the Gender Community of Practice in the region. She previously worked as the UNOHCHR Special Advisor on Trafficking in Human Beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a Special Advisor on Trafficking for UNICEF/UNOHCHR/OSCE, also in BiH, and as Director of the National Women’s Information Centre OSKA in Warsaw, Poland. She holds a Master of Arts in History of Art from A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan, a diploma in directing for TV from the Hogere School voor de Kunsten, Utrecht (1990-1993)and has attended a number of trainings and courses in human rights.
