Summary: Louise Sperl (Austria) is a Gender Specialist at BRC. Before joining the centre in January 2006, Louise worked as a Political Officer on human rights, gender and conflict prevention at the United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) in Senegal. Prior to this, Louise was a Legal Researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights in Vienna, where she was monitoring and backstopping governance projects for the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), conducting research on human rights/justice issues and holding seminars and lectures at Vienna University. Louise has also worked as a manager of governance projects in Southeast Europe and as a coordinator of training programmes for the Austrian Study Centre for Peace and Conflict Resolution (Austria, Croatia and Kosovo). Louise holds a Mag. iur in Law and a Dr.iur. in Law (human rights/labour and social law) from Vienna University.
