Linking Beijing Platform for Action and CEDAW

The Beijing Declaration from 1995 reaffirmed the commitments of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women as which sets up an agenda for national action to end discrimination against women.

The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women was adopted on 18 December 1979 by the United Nations General Assembly and entered into force as an international treaty on 3 September 1981 after the twentieth country had ratified it.
