The scope of the project is to support lobbying and strengthening capacities of partners in national, local and community level in Albania to forcefully address issues of domestic violence. The Project is jointly funded by UNDP Albania and JWID and implemented by UNDP AL in close collaboration with Central and Local Government, Women NGO’s, media and UN agencies. The specific objectives of the project are: · to formulate a National Strategy and Action Plan on Anti Domestic Violence · to enhance partnership building at National and Local level in order to ensure that National Strategy and Action Plan is owned jointly by local governments, civil society and all partners; · to enhance the capacity of civil society organizations at all levels to build efficient coalitions around implementation of domestic violence issues in Albania. The project will follow an integrated approach of multilevel capacity building and awareness education initiatives that aim strengthening Institutional capacities in Central and Local level, facilitation of networking and coalition building efforts of all partners involved to bring in agenda and solve domestic violence issues in Albania. The Project is designed around three main components: 1) Policy review for a protective legal and social environment for women who suffer violence 2) Law enforcement and relief services through community coordination. 3.
