Lessons Learned, Links and Additional Resources

Building upon the achievements of Gender Mainstreaming II project implemented during October 06 – December 07 and the recommendations of the mains project stakeholders and partners, UNDP Albania would like to continue its efforts in order to ensure sustainability of these achievements and maximalise their impact more specifically in the Education Sector. The proposed project will be focused in three main components as follows:

1.       Continuation of the support to the Evaluation Board of School Textbooks

2.       Support for the Institute of Curricula Development and Training for making gender part of school curricula in elementary and secondary education
3.       Even though these have been considered as the first steps for introducing gender perspective in the regional universities as part of the support of the Gender Institute for the local universities, the new project will support more sustainable interventions to institutionalize the gender considerations in the education system and more specifically targeting the Faculties that prepare the new generations of teachers in Albania.
