Opportunities for Biomass Energy Programmes

This report is is based on five UNDP-GEF projects in Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia which focused on the use of wood residues from wood processing and forestry to provide heat. Using interviews with project teams and other stakeholders, the report gleans lessons learned for biomass project development and implementation for market transformation in this region, and makes recommendations for new biomass projects both in the region and beyond.
