BRATISLAVA, Slovakia - Stopping exploitation of water resources is a key UN target, and information is crucial to better management. With that aim in mind the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Europe and CIS has introduced the WaterWiki, an interactive online tool to facilitate the sharing of water governance knowledge in the region.

Developed by the water governance and knowledge management teams at the Bratislava Regional Centre, the WaterWiki will enable users—from within UNDP, as well as from civil society and governments—to learn about projects in the region, find tools and guidance, share insights, collaborate in workspaces, and identify colleagues and experts.

The WaterWiki is based on the same software as the popular Wikipedia, and allows users to contribute, add or edit pages as well as upload files. The ability to change and form the WaterWiki allows it to grow and adapt to the needs of users.
