DESCRIPTION:
This project draws from a shared commitment of the UNKT to address gender concerns and contribute effectively to ensuring equality between Kosovar men and women in all spheres of life. The project is expected to serve as a catalyst to the Government and the civil society’s efforts at creating an enabling environment for development and proper implementation of gender-sensitive measures within the framework of the National Action Plan on the Achievement of Gender Equality in Kosovo. It focuses on institutional capacity building, strengthening and better utilization of social services, civil society empowerment, advocacy and awareness–raising, policy development for mainstreaming gender in development processes and facilitating effective co-ordination among all stakeholders and implementation of gender mainstreaming in line with CEDAW, Anti-discrimination and Gender Equality laws of Kosovo, Beijing Platforms for Action as well as the Millennium Development Declaration
