The objective of the project is to collect and analyze data with regard to knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of Kosovo youth (age 15–24) toward HIV, sexually transmitted infections and related issues. Special emphasis will be allocated to sexual risky behaviours, and their correlation with sexual knowledge, behaviours and attitudes. Based on the results gained from the Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices and Behaviours (KAPB) study, conclusions and recommendations will be drafted and used as a basis for development of the HIV prevention strategy for young people in Kosovo. How is this being achieved? The Joint UN Team on AIDS, having UNDP as one of the members, will select a professional organisation for implementation of the KAPB Study that will include 1300 young Kosovars of different ethnicities. The UN Joint Team on AIDS and Kosovo AIDS Committee in cooperation with the implementing agency will establish a Survey Working Group that will have the overall supervisory role in the KAPB Study implementation. |
