She has worked for EU technical assistance programme (TACIS) for Environmental Awareness for three years as a national expert and later as a regional coordinator for the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia). She then joined UNDP country office in Tbilisi, Georgia and worked as the environmental progreamme analyst for three years. Since 2003 she has been working for the UNDP/GEF Regional team for Europe and CIS as a coordinator for capacity development and adaptation portfolio. She is a member of the Balaton Group, the international network of environmental professionals.
Summary: Henrieta Martonakova is a Project Manager at the Energy and Environment Practice. She has been supporting SEA application mainly in the CIS countries. Her responsibilities in that areas are project development and management, advisory services to UNDP country offices and training. In addition, she is involved in the process of introducing more systematic application of SEA within UNDP globaly, by being assigned to work partially for the Environment and Energy Group of the Bureau of the Development Policy (BDP).
