Major activities

The project aims  (1) institutional strengthening of the Ministry of Nature Protection, (2) capacity building for the National Customs Department in matters related to the Protection of the Ozone Layer and (3) training for refrigeration technicians in good practices in refrigeration (GPR). The project will enable Armenia to meet its pahe-out obligations under the Montreal Protocol within a rapid but realistic time-frame, and ensure availability of technical assistance to expedite the Country Programme implementation The project targets priority ODS phase-out activities in the Refrigeration and the Aerosol sectors.

Components:

Refrigerant recovery/recycling

Eliminate the use of Chlorofluorocarbones (CFC) 11 and 12 from the manufacture of Commercial Refrigerators

Eliminate the use of CFC-11 and CFC-12 from the manufacture of Aerosols

Training the trainers in Refrigeration

Training to Customs Officers for Monitoring and Control of ODS

Monitoring of the National Refrigerant Management Plan

Assistance for Coordinating the Implementation of the Country Programme
