Summary: Since 2003, prior to joining BRC in late 2007, Kerstin has worked with BCPR’s Transitional Recovery Unit in Geneva and in Country Offices in Nepal, Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka in the areas of Conflict-sensitive programming for vulnerable and conflict-affected communities, Mine Action, Area-based development, application of the 4R approach, UN Monitoring & Reporting Task Force on Children affected by armed conflict (UN SC 1612), DEX Management support, UN coordination for transition (DPKO to UNCT), Local & national government capacity building for development planning, Conflict-related development analysis, Donor coordination and support, etc.

Responsibilities/specialization: Kerstin is working with the Bratislava Regional Centre as Peace and Security Analyst. As the BRC CPR focal point and in close collaboration with BCPR’s ECIS Regional Team, she provides support to Country Offices in the area of Crisis Prevention and Recovery, including knowledge management and facilitation of regional and sub-regional Communities of Practice, support to programme formulation, mainstreaming conflict prevention and conflict-sensitivity into programmes and practices, etc.
