Capacity Development Response Strategy for Kvemo Kartli Region in Georgia - 30 March 2009
30 March 2009 - GEORGIA - Together with the central, regional and local partners, UNDP Georgia defined a capacity development response strategy for the Kvemo Kartli region in Georgia as part of the project Strengthening Regional and Local Governance in the Kvemo Kartli Region. Some of the short and medium term responses are currently being implemented, and the regional and local administrations have integrated the long term responses into their five year strategic document. After conducting a capacity assessment focusing on service delivery in all seven municipalities of the Kvemo Kartli region in Georgia, a capacity development response for the short, medium and long term was formulated, including indicators and a costing of activities. Activities were developed based on identified priority areas: human resources; organizational development; accountability; strategy and planning. Costs of the activities were defined and short-term activities were given priority for funding.
